On April 27, 2019, the "5th China International High Capacity Test and Inspection Technology Forum and 2019 Technical Summit of China Short Circuit Test Technology Committee" was held in Suzhou. This conference is guided by the China Machinery Industry Federation, strongly supported by the China Electrotechnical Society and the China Electrical Equipment Industry Association, and hosted by the Electric Power Research Institute. Former Vice Minister of the Ministry of Machinery Industry Lu Yansun, Executive Vice President of the China Machinery Industry Federation Yang Xuetong, Vice Mayor of Suzhou Municipal Government Lu Chunyun and other industry experts and local leaders attended.
Hu Delin, the chairman of the Electric Power Research Institute, said in his speech that the China International Large Capacity Testing and Inspection Technology Forum has become an important platform for innovation-driven development and seeking consensus, and is playing an increasingly significant role in promoting high-quality development and building the world's leading technological innovation in large capacity. Relying on this platform, the Electric Power Research Institute has, through unremitting efforts and continuous innovation in recent years, reached the level of developed countries in many large-capacity detection capabilities. From the grid-connected capacity of impulse power sources, the sudden short-circuit test of 1500MVA power transformers, the direct test of 126kV switchgear, to the soon-to-be-completed and operational 1200kV/150kA synthetic circuit test system, etc. They are increasingly holding the world's discourse power and providing strong technical support for the construction of key national power grids and economic development.
It is reported that the China Short Circuit Test Technology Committee was established in July last year, aiming to enhance technical exchanges among top experts at home and abroad and comprehensively promote the development of short circuit test technology. On the one hand, it helps domestic and foreign power transmission and transformation manufacturing enterprises to develop well and fast along the "Belt and Road". On the other hand, it helps countries along the "Belt and Road" build safe power grids. Chairman Hu stated that the committee has been striving to catch up with international counterparts in short-circuit theory, short-circuit practice, and short-circuit test standards. Currently, in the research of 500 kV high-voltage direct current circuit breakers and arc discharge simulation tests of the elevated base of converter transformers, the wisdom of the committee's academicians and experts is fully utilized to actively build the strongest short-circuit test base in China and even the world.
At the opening ceremony of the event on that day, Professor Lou van der Sluis, the chairperson of the forum, delivered the opening speech. Relevant leaders from the Suzhou Municipal Government, the China Machinery Industry Federation, the China Electrotechnical Society, and the China Electrical Equipment Industry Association spoke respectively. All have highly praised the achievements made by the China International High Capacity Testing and Inspection Technology Forum over the past five years and are full of hope for the future development of the industry.
The conference invited Researcher Zhang Liqun from the Development Research Center of The State Council, Academician Chen Weijiang from the Chinese Academy of Sciences, a fellow of the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE), and 18 renowned experts from home and abroad, including Tsinghua University, Xi 'an Jiaotong University, China Electric Power Research Institute, State Grid, China Southern Power Grid, and Delft University of Technology in the Netherlands, to give on-site reports and exchanges. Academician Wen Bangchun of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, leaders of the National Nuclear and Radiation Safety Center, members of the CSTL committee, director of the China Quality Certification Center, and leaders of local governments and science and technology associations at all levels in Suzhou were also invited to attend. As well as expert representatives from inspection institutions such as the Netherlands Electric Power Testing Institute (KEMA), Italy's DeMEPA, the Russian Institute of Electrical and Mechanical Engineering, and the Shanghai Power Transmission and Transformation Equipment Inspection Center, and technical experts from enterprises such as Siemens, TBEA Shenyang Transformer, TBEA Hengbei Transformer, Chint Electric, Shandong Electric Group, Shandong Taikai Group, Siyuan Electric, and Senlan Intelligent Nearly 200 representatives attended the meeting.
